Don’t bring a boy to do a man’s job! Unless you have a state-of-the-art, fully functioning CRYSTAL BALL you simply do not know how your next claim/accident will eventually resolve. The best approach is “muscle”, or investigative savvy; a vendor that knows how to get all the evidence quickly detailed and preserved in anticipation of someone twisting the facts (Oh, like a Plaintiff Attorney for example.).
Photos, statements, videos, all can be captured within an hour or less in many instances. Is your claim department or vendor ready and equipped to respond with muscle? If not, go back to a claim with a poor outcome and do a root cause analysis starting with the Loss Report and continuing on the investigation; Who did what, when, and can the response time and fact-gathering be improved and made more efficient? In short, do your vendors have the necessary “muscle”?
